The Madison Community Pool's competitive Swim Team, The Barracudas, is a great way to have fun, get exercise and meet new friends.
- ELIGIBILITY:
- Open to all members 7 years old and up to 18 years old (as of June 1) who have passed the deep water test
- No previous swim team experience is necessary
- Lifeguards are welcome and are expected to commit to all home meets
- SIGN-UP:
- Submit a completed Swim Team registration form with Membership registration
- Receive an information packet from Coach in mid May
- Late fee for joining after Memorial Day.
- No new team members accepted after 6/21/2013
- PARENTAL COMMITMENT:
- Attend a mandatory parents meeting before the season starts

- SWIMMERS COMMITMENT:
- Meets
- 8 League sponsored meets with a Divisional Meet and Championship Meet at the end of the season
- Exhibition meets allow non-club swimmers greater opportunities to swim
- Meets begin in late June/early July and generally occur twice a week
- To participate in the Divisional Meet, swimmers must have entered at least 4 League sponsored meets
- All meets follow the same format
- First and second year swimmers may be limited to the number of meets entered, at the discretion of the coaches
- Sign In
- A sign in sheet is posted on the Swim Team Bulletin Board
- Swimmers must sign in for each meet they can attend at least 24 hours before the meet is scheduled to start
- A swimmer who fails to sign in, will not be permitted to swim in that meet
- A swimmer who fails to attend a meet that they have signed in for will no be permitted to sign in for the next meet
- Practices
- Begins the week of June 10, 2013 and are scheduled throughout the season
- Swimmers must attend practice the morning of a PM meet
- Each swimmer's time will be recorded at a mandatory Time Trial practice
- FINANCIAL COMMITMENT:

- The Swim Team fee is $135 per person, $160 after Memorial Day
- No charge for lifeguards or swimmers age 15 and older
- Gear
- Swimmers receive a bathing cap and a T-shirt
- Swimmers must purchase their own goggles and swim suit
- Swimmers are encouraged, but not required, to wear the team suit. A girl's suit cost approximately $54. A boy's suit (jammer) cost approximately $35.
