Order of Events
|
|
Swimmers must arrive one hour before the meet starts
- Event and lane assignments are given to swimmers at the pre-meet
meeting.
- Heat assignments are given when there is a large number of
swimmers for an event (heat 1 is competition, all others are
exhibition only)
- Our team gets 3 lanes for each event (1,3,5 or 2,4,6)
- A swimmer may be in up to 3 events in a meet
- Swimmers do laps to warm up.

Meets can take up to three hours to complete. |
|
Swimmers who are not competing in the current event
- must stay out of the pool
- must stay clear of the deck
- must listen for the coaches to announce their event
- may encourage and cheer for their teammates
- may play quiet games on their towels

The order of events is as follows: |
|
Individual Medley (25 meters each stroke)
- 12 and under girls, then boys
- 13 - 18 girls, then boys
|
|
Freestyle
- 8 and under girls, then boys (25 meters)
- 9 - 10 girls, then boys (25 meters)
- 11 - 12 girls, then boys (50 meters)
- 13 - 14 girls, then boys (50 meters)
- 15 - 18 girls, then boys (50 meters)

Backstroke
- by age and gender as in freestyle
|
|
Breaststroke
- by age and gender as in freestyle
|
|
Butterfly
- by age and gender as in freestyle
|
|
Relays
- 12 & under Medley girls, then boys (4 swimmers, 25 Meters each stroke)
- 13 & over co-ed Medley (4 swimmers, 50 Meters each stroke)
- 8 & under co-ed Freestyle (4 swimmers, 25 Meters each)
- 12 & under co-ed Freestyle (4 swimmers, 25 Meters each)
- 13 & over co-ed Freestyle (4 swimmers, 50 Meters each)
